Auckland Water Taxis operates two purpose-built vessels from the Viaduct Harbour, located directly in front of O'Hagan's in Market Square. Our services extend to every island in the inner Hauraki Gulf and numerous destinations across the greater Auckland area.
We came into being 17 years ago when it became clear that ferry timetables simply didn't cater for those keen to explore the magnificent islands of the Hauraki Gulf — or for the commercial need to move people and freight around the gulf on demand.
Our vessels carry up to 11 passengers. A harbour cruise with us is unique entertainment for families and visiting friends alike.
In the 17 years Auckland Water Taxis has been operating, we've witnessed many positive changes across our area of operation. Rangitoto, Motutapu, Motuihe, and Rakino are now pest-free, harbouring expanding ecosystems of flora, fauna, and avian life.
Waiheke Island offers myriad bays and beaches, cafes, world-famous wineries and walking tracks. Tiritirimatangi — DOC's crown jewel — is a must-visit. We can assist with permits and planning your perfect day out.
